Merino Kids™ follows a very strict code of conduct. We have very stringent standards that we adhere to when sourcing products.

"The observance of human rights at all our global production sites is one of our fundamental requirements... (Manufacturing partners production) must not be realized on the grounds of exploitative activities such as child labour or forced overtime work."

When we manufacture outside Australasia we use factories that predominantly supply the European and USA markets. We impose strict control over the dye stuffs and dying and finishing processes that the factories can use. 

The country laws to protect workers and factory owners/managers are obliged to operate their factories within these set parameters. Some factories flaunt the laws. We don’t use these factories.

We have put in place a “code of supplier conduct” document that is signed by all of our factories prior to establishing business. The document defines what we deem to be acceptable practice relating to areas such as:

• child labor
• discrimination
• wages benefits
• allowances
  
• safety

This is monitored and reinforced by us and during our regular trips to the factories and we work together to maintain and improve these conditions.
